"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."

--Margaret Mead

Habitat of Humanity of Kershaw County and a partnering local church started construction on House #23 during the winter of 1996.  The family, a mom and her young son, moved in April of 1997.  The mom was determined to get a home to call the family’s own.  She qualified with our affiliate and remained on our waiting list for over 2 years.  With the help of Habitat for Humanity, her church, and other organizations, her goal was accomplished. Since achieving her goal of home ownership, Mom has gone back to college and is completing work on a Bachelor’s Degree.
